Thermage® Uses

Thermage® can effectively tighten, firm, and smooth skin that is aged or damaged. Thermage® treatments use radio frequency to stimulate the production of collagen and remove fine lines and wrinkles. During Thermage® treatments energy is distributed to the deep layers of collagen within the skin and heat is evenly applied to the underlying tissue.

How Thermage® Works

The collagen that is stimulated during Thermage® treatments helps repair the structure of the skin. The Thermage® treatments can take about one to two hours to complete depending on the size of the area being treated. Although the collagen tightening is immediate, increased tightening will occur over a period of several months following the procedure.

Procedure Information

During Thermage® treatments patients will experience a quick deep heating sensation. However, the Thermage® device has a cooling tip to ensure comfort and protect the skin during the procedure. Your dermatologist will quickly move the device in multiple passes over the skin to achieve even treatment.

Thermage® Results

Unlike many other skin care treatments, Thermage® is typically performed as a single procedure rather than as a series of treatments. Thermage® results will be immediately noticeable and will continue to improve in the months following the procedure. Most patients who have Thermage® treatments will maintain their results for a period of one to two years.
