Physician Assistant
Sean Geoffrey Pearce graduated from the Physician Assistant (PA) program at Oregon Health and Sciences University in 1998. Before beginning his education as a physician assistant, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Portland and worked as a staff nurse at the Portland VA Medical Center for four years. In the PA program, he received "medical model" schooling for over two years. His education did not stop there. To remain nationally certified, Mr. Pearce must complete 100 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) every two years, and must pass a national recertification examination every six years. He joined our dermatology team in July 2002, but for the previous two years Sean worked as a dermatology PA in Florida gaining considerable experience in the diagnosis and treatment of sun damage, skin cancer, and a wide range of skin ailments. Sean is a native Oregonian, is married, has a daughter, and likes to ski, scuba, hike, and bike.
Clinic Manager
Juli has been helping doctors run their practices for over 30 years and has been working for Dr. Goodkin for the last 15 years. She manages our personnel and accounts receivable. She is the office troubleshooter, keeps the equipment humming and assists Dr. Goodkin with business management and special projects. She also helps patients with insurance issues and makes sure that the office runs smoothly, that you are greeted warmly and the phones are answered promptly. She has a big cuddly chocolate Labrador named Mocha and a Tuxedo feline named Shiva.
Registered Nurse
Sharon has been employed with Dr. Goodkin for 25 years as a registered nurse. She assists in the many aspects of patient care and in Mohs surgery. Her other duties include training new employees with regard to OSHA compliance and helping everyone work together as a team. She has been married for 35 years and has two children. She enjoys cooking, camping, walking, music and being part of both the One More Time Around and Get a Life marching bands.
Registered Nurse
Rachel is the newest member of our staff. She moved to Portland from Idaho in September, 2010, after graduating from Walla Walla Community College Nursing Program. Rachel also assists with Mohs surgery and takes care of prescription prior authorizations and refill requests. In her free time Rachel enjoys spending time with her sister and nephew and can be found singing and playing her guitar.
Administrative Assistant / Mohs Technician
Anna has been with our office for over seven years, starting as the receptionist, a job at which she excelled. Over the years she was trained to help the billing department with data entry. When the position of Administrative Assistant became vacant, she was willing to step in and work in the business office helping with insurance billing and coding. A year later she volunteered to be trained as a Mohs Technician and currently assists Dr. Goodkin in the lab by preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination. She is not intimidated by new technology and is very helpful in resolving computer related problems. Anna enjoys traveling, spoiling her nieces and nephews, photography and collecting postcards. She also volunteers as a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister NW and co-manages a non-profit organization that works with teenagers.
Medical Receptionist / Mohs Technician
Shelly has been with our office for almost four years as a full time receptionist. She helps answer the phones, schedules patient appointments, prepares charts and now also assists in the lab on Mohs surgery days preparing tissue specimens. She graduated from Phagans Cosmetology School as a Facial Technician and has been a great addition to our office. She is a soon to be new mom and enjoys spending time with her husband camping, hiking the trails in the Gorge, decorating her home and shopping in her Portland neighborhood.
Licensed Medical Aesthetician / Medical Receptionist
Leah joined Dr. Goodkin’s office in December of 2007. After graduating from the University of Puget Sound in 2003, she decided to pursue her lifelong interest in aesthetics by attending the Euro Institute of Skin Care. Upon graduation she spent two years working for a plastic surgeon and a resort spa, before becoming a full time member of Dr. Goodkin’s team. She currently spends her days consulting with patients regarding their skin concerns, as well as performing facials, resurfacing treatments and facial waxing. She has an extensive knowledge of the multiple skincare products lines carried in the office as well as a solid background working with Youngblood mineral makeup. A few days a week Leah works at the front desk as a medial receptionist which she enjoys as well. In her free time she loves to travel, hike and play volleyball and tennis.
Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist
Dani has been employed as our Medical Assistant since her graduation from Pioneer Pacific College in 2010. She assists our nurses with patient care and in surgeries. She also works in the front office scheduling patients and answering phones. Her cheerful personality is a welcome addition to our staff. She enjoys spending time with her husband and playing with her black Labrador Wiley. She also enjoys shopping, camping and being a new home owner.
Medical Receptionist
Shelly has been with Dr. Goodkin for a combined total of six years as a part time medical receptionist. She cheerfully answers the phone, checks patients in and out of the office and assists with data entry. She graduated from Concord Career Institute and is an important part of our office. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two young girls. She is involved as a youth leader in her church and her hobbies include cooking, quilting, camping and traveling to new destinations.
