Originally from the east coast, Desiree Dougherty graduated from the University of Florida in 2002. She then continued her education at the University of South Alabama, where she earned a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005.

She has been practicing as a physician assistant for the last 13 years and has since made her home in the Portland area with her husband and two children.
